900 more Medical Seats in the state from Next year

Karnataka state to offer 900 more medical seats from next academic year with the proposed six medical colleges which would be set up in Chamarajnagar, Gadag, Gulbarga, Karwar, Kodagu and Koppal.

According to Minister of State for Medical Education Sharan Prakash, 150 students can be admitted to each college and the Department will seek the permission from Medical Council of India for admissions.

The new proposed college to function under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

With the additional number of seats, 3,400 seats will be available from next academic year.
