IIST invites applications for B.Tech Admissions

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram invites applications from eligible candidates for admissions to B. Tech programs starting from the academic year 2013.

IIST is offering B. Tech programs in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics and Physical Sciences.

60 seats are available Aerospace Engineering and Avionics and 36 seats in Physical Sciences.

Eligibility for Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) B. Tech admission

  • Must be Citizen of India
  • Must have been born on or after October 1, 1988 for General and OBC categories and on or after October 1, 1983 for SC, ST and PD
  • Must have qualified 10+2 or equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as their subjects. General and OBC students must have secured an aggregate of at least 70 % in these subjects and SC, ST and PD  students must have secured at least 60 % in these subjects.
  • Candidates should have appeared for JEE (Main) 2013 to qualify themselves to appear for JEE (Advanced) and secured at least 20 % in aggregate and 5 % marks in PCM subjects for General, 18 % aggregate and 4.5 % in PCM subjects for non creamy layer OBC and 10 % aggregate and 2.5 % in physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects for SC, ST and PD category students in JEE (Advanced) entrance exam

Willing candidates should apply online providing JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) roll numbers.

Last date to apply for Indian Institute of Space Sciences and Technology 2013 B. Tech course is 10 July 2013.

After submitting applications candidates should print or download the generated challan and pay registration free at any State Bank of India and Union Bank of India branches.

Registration fee for Male General and OBC students is Rs 600 and for Female and SC, ST and PD students the fee is Rs 300.

Selected candidates will be provided with financial assistance funded by Department of Space (DOS), Government of India.

Students who completed the course successfully with required grade during their course can be placed at ISRO or DOS centres as engineers and scientists depending on the requirements of ISRO and DOS.
